The rehabilitation proposes economic and functional rationality in a respectful and simple architectural intervention, to achieve the goal of a viable project.

The "Wine Therapy" is a quality complement for hostelry establishments and wineries, a rural booming "wine tourism" which integrates and enhances the commercial and cultural aspects in the wine world.

The historical importance of the building and its cultural value is another fact that confers reliability and consistency to the existing hotel. In this context the location of "San Clodio´s" Hotel-Monastery in the heart of the "Ribeiro" wineland is specially suitable for this use. Operational profitability improves when reconciles private (hotel´s complement) and public (outdoor) use.

The proposed place to house the new establishment is part of the old monastery complex, close to the hotel areas, suitable for compatible accesses, a public one from the entry plaza and a privet one through the back gardens and vineyard.

We also propose a direct indoor access from the hotel, through the cafeteria located on the ground floor, matching up with wine therapy center´s mezzanine. This contact generates a new shared "natural-bar" space.

The existence of this owned vineyard also justifies the "wine therapy" concept and functionally provides a relaxing outdoor space as a natural extension of the complex.

The available indoor space is enough to adapt the required brief, both functional and facilities, and its maintenance, managed either from the hotel or independently.

The proposed program aims to keep compatible playful and health uses, making a clear distinction between areas, to ensure independence and privacy for treatment spaces while regarding the center´s flexible use.
